A variety of factors and circumstances that impact the emergence and severity of issues in one system can have a role in the performance of the other.
Effective disease analysis often requires an understanding that goes beyond these systems and their capacity to work together. The impact of patient characteristics, as well as racial and ethnic variables, can also have an important impact.

An understanding of the symptoms of alterations in cardiovascular and respiratory systems is a critical step in diagnosis and treatment of many diseases. For APRNs this understanding can also help educate patients and guide them through their treatment plans.
In this Assignment, you examine a case study and analyze the symptoms presented. You identify the elements that may be factors in the diagnosis, and you explain the implications to patient health.

In your Case Study Analysis related to the scenario provided, explain the following
The cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary pathophysiologic processes that result in the patient presenting these symptoms.
Any racial/ethnic variables that may impact physiological functioning.
How these processes interact to affect the patient.

Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
Heart failure is when the heart fails to supply adequate blood to the body to meet essential elements requirements such as oxygen for body metabolic needs throughout the normal or active state of the body (Singh, 2020). In the United States, roughly 5 million individuals live with congestive heart failure (CHF). This accounts for one million hospital admissions annually and over $37 billion in healthcare spending (Greene & Karavatas, 2018). Therefore, Congestive heart failure has been the leading cause of hospital admission across the globe, causing straining in medical facilities and overworking of nurses and staff involved in the day-to-day treatment and care of patients (Greene & Karavatas, 2018). Congestive heart failure is a condition that disrupts the regular pumping of blood proficiently as it should(Singh,2020). The signs and symptoms of CHF vary significantly from one individual to another. However, many things can include dyspnea upon exertion or laying down, fatigue, edema, increased need to urinate at night, ascites, and nausea (Verhoeff & Mitchell, 2017).
